TIPS FOR TRAVELING WITH AN INFANT FROM KATIE TORWALT

Katie Torwalt is a singer, songwriter, wife, and more recently new mom. Katie and her husband Bryan travel often for their musical career and their daughter Indigo had traveled on 30+ flights before her first birthday. She shared her tips with us on our Instagram (@rents4baby) but we also wanted to bring them to the blog. Enjoy!

Her list of what to pack when flying with baby:

Bibs pacifiers (and a backup paci)

Pacifier clips 

-Munchkin pacifier wipes for pacifier sanitation 

-Diaper bag for dirty diapers 

-Happy Baby Organics pouches

-Puffs or wafer snacks

-Diapers + Wipes

-Oogie Bear booger picker

Headbands: Turbans for Tots & Minimade co 

-Kyte baby and Kickeepants zipper footie pjs

-Change of clothes

-Tylenol

-3 swaddles

-Toys/teething toys

-Nursing cover

-Changing mat

-Lysol wipes

-Hand sanitizer

-Snacks for you (especially protein)

-Wallet

-Baby’s birth certificate

-Baby carrier

-Most importantly grace for yourself and baby!

Flying tips:

-You can bring frozen milk thru security / or formula

-Buy a water after security

-Download podcast or audio book and use Bluetooth headphones

*Mom hack: get Air Pods to listen to podcast or audio book

Her tips for preparing for your destination:

Don’t try to haul it all! Rent the items you need and have them delivered to your hotel, Airbnb, VRBO, family/friends’ house.

“As parents we get to be prepared patient, and peaceful but there are still

things that aren’t in our control. Traveling with your children brings those feelings right to the surface. I am learning to be easy on myself and remember that I can always research well, pack strategically, and plan well for my destination and the rest is just a season. We do our best.” -Katie
